Jalina was sent home with instructions on her 1st project of the school year. I was so very excited to do this. If you know me, then you know that I am one for crafts. Jalina is just like me, so I knew this would be fun. She was told to decorate and apple using things around the house or outside and just be creative. Jalina also has to go to the front of the class tomorrow and talk about her apple and who helped her and what she used. I think this is great! I am going to admit that I was going to take control and just do the apple the way I picured it but then the teacher will say "she didn't do it" So I stepped back. Can u imagine me not taking control of this project? I know you are laughing cause you all know me and this apple would have to be the most perfect with glitter and glam. BUT NO!!! I didn't. I sat with Jalina and asked her what she wanted to do and let her do the imagining. The bottom line is that I am proud of myself for stepping back and letting her take charge. Let me tell you about this apple and how creative my Angel is.
Painted with a bright red paint first. Used a stick she found from outside for the stem. Grass for the "bangs" Jalina said. Silver glitter around the neck for a necklace. Gold glitter eyebrows...(I wanted eyelashes but she picked eyebrows) lol. An almond for the nose from my trail mix that I was eating while she was doing this. A leaf from the tree. A piece of white ribbon for the mouth. Sprinkle of glitter for the cheeks and a set of googly eyes that Mama had laying around (don't ask). I think I covered it all. I am so proud of her and so happy that she can get up there tomorrow and talk about what SHE did not me and what she used and how she created it herself.

what a beauty little apple she created! I love it and I love how you stepped it back and let her do her own thang, I know that can be very tough cause as Mom's we always want to have some sort of control and make sure everything works out but she did her thang and it came out beautiful.
Let me know how she did explaining it to her class.

Aaawwww beauts, I LOVE the apple! She did such a great job and is soo creative, just like her mama. I know you were dying to bust out your feathers & glitter(i know you too well) but you did the right thing by stepping it back. So proud of my friend and my baby. xo
